I Love L.A.

Right now the forecast for Los Angeles next Tuesday, Jan. 9 (Tape Day) calls for sunny skies and a high of 72 degrees. No matter how mild a winter we've had here so far, there's no way Cleveland is going to match THAT any time soon.

Of course, the low will be 46 degrees, which is probably what we'll be facing when we get in line at 4:30 in the morning. We'll wear heavy jackets then and discard them later on when we're able to head back to the hotel for a little rest.

Yeah, I love L.A. (with apologies to Randy Newman, of course).

  1. You're a runner - you know about layers. I guess that will be the style of the day. This is too exciting - I can't believe it's almost here! You'll be checking back via cell phone to let us your progress during the process, right?
Good luck, sweetie! We'll be praying for you (if that's not TOO wrong).
    Luv,
    J

  2. I plan to check in via cell phone AND by updating the blog throughout the day whenever I get a chance (i.e., like when they give us our priority numbers in the morning and we can spend an hour or so back at the hotel). And as always, thanks to my big sister for the well wishes...

  3. While this has absolutely nothing to do with your trip - I just thought I'd let you know that the mild winter is giving us here in Charlotte that same LA-type weather. In fact the forecast for the weekend reads like this: FRI - sunny, high 68; SAT - sunny, high 70; SUN - sunny, high 68.

  4. Rob: Normally I would say that this is yet another reason why we hate you, but then again it will be almost 60 degrees (albeit rainy) here in Cleveland today, so I guess we don't have that much to complain about. We MIGHT have something to complain about in the form of flurries by the middle of next week, but for now we're good...
